Non-Death Grief Module
This e-learning module is our resource release for International Overdose Awareness Day 2026. In it, we explore the ways change, transitions, and losses not related to death can be a source of grief. We hear from people with lived and living experiences of substance use, HIV, colonization, child apprehension, immigration, incarceration, houselessness, and staff turnover.
This module is designed for workers in the Harm Reduction and HIV sectors, but will also be useful for anyone who can relate to the stories here. Together, we can create a shared language around non-death grief so we can tend our own losses, and the grief of our co-workers, and community members.
